Truth and Reconciliation Event

Join us on Thursday, November 7th, 2024 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM in the SSMU Ballroom for this year’s Truth and Reconciliation event. The evening will address the realities faced by Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit (MMIWG2S+) communities, the impacts of institutional colonialism, and the intersection of these issues with sexual violence. Dinner will be provided! Register here.

Join us in the Mind and Body Room every other Thursday from 1-2pm for a free yoga class! RSVP using the links below.

Spirituality and sexuality are inextricably linked, yet these interconnections are often overlooked. Organized by SACOMSS and MORSL, the event explores the interactions between faith and sexuality, while considering the diverse impacts of sexual assault on spirituality. The potential role of faith in a survivor’s healing process is also discussed.

SACOMSS organizes a Sexual Assault Awareness Week, which includes our Fire with Water benefit art show and workshops on reclaiming sex based on respect, supporting survivors, and strategizing to make our communities (and sex lives!) safer and sexier for everyone.

Every year, SACOMSS organizes a December 6 Polytechnique Memorial, during which we remember the 14 women killed in the Ecole Polytechnique Massacre of December 6, 1989. This year, it will take place 4-6 pm in the SSMU Ballroom. Please RSVP here.
