Consent Workshop
Engage in an interactive consent workshop led by speakers Adriana, Arabella, and Serena, followed by a relaxing painting session. This event combines meaningful dialogue with a creative outlet—painting supplies, snacks, and appetizers will be provided! Register here.
Truth and Reconciliation Event
Join us on Thursday, November 7th, 2024 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM in the SSMU Ballroom for this year’s Truth and Reconciliation event. The evening will address the realities faced by Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit (MMIWG2S+) communities, the impacts of institutional colonialism, and the intersection of these issues with sexual violence. Spirituality, Sexuality and Sexual Violence: Pathways for Healing
Spirituality and sexuality are inextricably linked, yet these interconnections are often overlooked. Organized by SACOMSS and MORSL, the event explores the interactions between faith and sexuality, while considering the diverse impacts of sexual assault on spirituality. The potential role of faith in a survivor’s healing process is also discussed.
Sexual Assault Awareness Week
SACOMSS organizes a Sexual Assault Awareness Week, which includes our Fire with Water benefit art show and workshops on reclaiming sex based on respect, supporting survivors, and strategizing to make our communities (and sex lives!) safer and sexier for everyone.
December 6th Ecole Polytechnique Memorial
Every year, SACOMSS organizes a December 6 Polytechnique Memorial, during which we remember the 14 women killed in the Ecole Polytechnique Massacre of December 6, 1989. This year, it will take place 4-6 pm in the SSMU Ballroom. Please RSVP here.
